This is just a quick opinion on the movie, “Avatar”. I really don’t fell like going into too much detail on this film but will be more then happy to discuss it with you, just leave your comments below.
Ok, so I saw “Avatar” last night and have mixed emotions about it. I really feel like the story was made up from a few other films, just combined and made into one. Most of the equipment (helicopters, bombers, military gear, etc.) has been robbed from various video games. I really don’t see anything original about this film (except the Na’ vi language). The one thing everyone keeps talking about is the CGI but if you played any big name video game in HD within the past two years, honestly the CGI is not that impressive. And I’m not sure what the director of the film is trying to give his audience, is he just attempting to make another Epic type film (Star Wars/LOTR) or is the message behind the film strictly political. I know the government is wrong at times, I know we fight unjust wars and I know we rape our world for its resources but if I wanted to hear that I would just turn on the news…I go to the theater to be entertained. The plot feels like any other “save the world/ love story plot” and not to mention the film is very predictable. I do give the artists props because the world they created (Pandora) was beautiful. Also, Neytiri is probably the hottest alien chick I’ve ever seen on screen. :p
All in all, the film kinda turned out to be the way I thought it was going to be, Over-hyped.
